Stewardship of Public Lands, grew out of the ADP initiative of the same name. For the past five summers, faculty representatives from participating AASCU institutions have spent a week in Yellowstone National Park studying controversies about wolves, bison, snowmobiles and grizzlies. Faculty then return to their campuses and develop course materials and teaching strategies-inspired by these controversies-to help undergraduates become informed, engaged citizens. The Stewardship monograph is a collection of 19 essays that explore both the Yellowstone seminar itself and the many practical applications of the seminar's concepts in and outside of the classroom.
